Got a project bass planned - basically, it's gonna be a Status Graphite 5-string Stingray neck, mated to a Stingray 5-shaped body, and with a set of original Stingray 5 electronics I've managed to source. Now, the body is going to be custom-built, the same shape as the Stingray 5's, but with no scratchplate, and constructed of nice exotic woods. Since I'm having the graphite neck, what woods do you all feel would go best in terms of sound quality with the graphite neck? I'm kinda sold on a swamp ash body with a maple top at the moment, but I'm open to suggestions.
