I still have to make the grill cloth frame and install it. The metal grill is only temporary. I haven't played anything through it yet, just check out the wiring
to make sure it all works. Right now it looks very Spartan. IMG_20170925_163520053.jpg IMG_20170925_165738204.jpg IMG_20170925_170055617_HDR.jpg IMG_20170925_170141494.jpg IMG_20170925_172620021.jpg IMG_20170925_172931030.jpg

24 wide by 25 1/2 tall by 13 1/2 deep. I haven't weighed it yet but it is pretty easy to move around and I'm 67. The driver only weighs 7 lbs and the cab is 1/2" baltic birch.

Marigold from Gena's group.jpg I gave it a good workout this morning
Very tight bottom with a well defined mid-range. Perfect for fretless.

Making the grill cloth frame. Will install velcro on the wood strips and grill frame. IMG_20170926_192250392.jpg IMG_20170926_192303990.jpg
Holes in the corners are for the vents. Gonna ditch the metal grill.

Won't that pinch off the vents a bit? Looking good!
  7. Zap out the drilled corner bits altogether.

IMG_20170927_114350131.jpg The grill cloth is just not working out. Where can I get wire mesh at a reasonable price?

Well it is done now. I decided to ditch the grill cloth in favor of the round metal grill. I just hated the way the grill cloth looked with the paint smudge and the uneven stretching.

What have I learned from this. 1st of all I started with the flat pack so this was more like a kit than from scratch. I would have no problem with cutting my own but I'm glad I did this one from the kit. Some products I like that I wasn't familiar with are PL and Duratex. PL really holds and is easy to use. Duratex looks like black pudding and rolls on like butter, really neat stuff. How does it sound? I have only played my fretless through it so far but I really like what I have heard so far. I would say that the 3015 is a bright speaker but with a very solid low end. This is perfect for me but may not be for everyone. My cab has no tweeter and I have no plans to add one. The 3015 has all the highs I need.

Stretching cloth is an art. I had similar problems with a cab I built. The metal grill looks fine. Thanks for sharing your build!

Now that is a price I can live with. Some places wanted $75 bucks for a 23x25.5 flat piece of grill.
