So, I play regularly in a big band--once a month at the local American Legion. It's a great gig. Most of the guys in the band were around when the music was written and have been playing it ever since. We get a good crowd of mostly older folks-- but they love to dance! Oh, the drinks are cheap and stong. So, here is the set list from the last gig: It had to be You Jersey Bounce Heartaches Allegheny Moon 5' 2" Eyes of B lue Deep Purple Baby Face Jimmy Dorsey medley Sunny Side of the Street Birth of the Blues Somebody Loves Me I'll get By 720 In the Books Nite Train New York, New York Kansas City Sentimental (over you) Rose Room Hot ChaChaCha Woodchopper's Ball Tennessee Waltz Red Roses for a Blue Lady Jambalaya St. Louis Blues Don't Get Around Much In The Mood Eager Beaver Leap Frog Cab Driver Paper Moon Spanish Eyes Bye Bye Blackbird Old Bill String Of Pearls Charmaine My Baby Just Cares for me Embraceable You Strip Polka Five Minutes More Dream We do play many of the same songs each month, but there is a little rotation too.
