    Check this:D

    For Sale:
Movie used Spinal Tap Bass Guitar signed by D.Smalls
    Asking Price: US$11500
    Condition: Excellent
    Production Year: 1983
    Description:

This is the white B.C. Rich Eagle bass guitar that Derek Smalls a.k.a. Harry
Shearer played in the film "This is SPINAL Tap". This item is truly one of a
kind. This bass guitar is also signed by Harry Shearer in two different
places. This bass has been in a climate-controlled non-smoking environment
since it was purchased from the studio. It is in the same condition it was
the last day that Harry played it. It does have some slight aging and the
tape is yellowing in a few places. Some of the tape was missing when it came
from the studio. It has some minor dents and dings in it but all the wear
came from Harry playing it in the film. This bass also comes with the
original case and set of strings that came on it plus you'll get photos of
Harry signing the bass. This bass was taken to the B.C. Rich factory in Los
Angeles California and was verified to be the bass Harry Shearer Played in
the film "This is Spinal Tap". It also comes with a signed certificate of
authenticity from Bernie Rico Jr. the president of B.C Rich Guitars. The
certificate also states all the hardware and specs of this bass. A photo of
Mr. Rico signing the certificate is also included *If you have any questions
PLEASE contact the seller.*Bank Certified Check or a US Postal Money Order
only please. Bass will be shipped via FED-EX Ground. Sorry... NO COD, NO
    ESCROW, NO PERSONAL CHECKS.

Where was that posted? And, just to clarify before a swarm of angry bassists descend upon this thread, you have no financial interest in this bass, right?

That was listed on eBay a couple years ago, and IIRC the asking price was at least double. I wonder if the seller's the same.

That bass has been relisted at 11 grand several times in a row as of late on ebay. It won't seem to go away...

I think he just put that there so discourage anyone from bidding on his bragging auction. The guy sounds pretty bitter and sort of mean, I'm glad nobody from here did any business with him.

I am interested to know how much hard rock paid for it, I doubt it was $10,000, but you never know.
The seller is from dallas, I wonder if I could go to my local hard rock and see it?
