I've been toying today with an Aphex aural exciter type C2
    anyone own one?
it doesn't sound very good with my bass in my studio monitor.
I was wondering if it's because I don't know how to use it or the unit really don't sound great.
  2. Damn! I thought you were talking about Spinal Tap!
  3. Love the turtle! In my experience Aural Exciters, aka mystery circuit, in general are too subtle to do any good on bass, they do work great to punch up vocals, guitar and horn solos.
  4. Try a BBE 482. Leave it on for a while with the boost knobs turned to zero. Then about a week later, turn it off. You'll probably turn it back on in a hurry.
