I have a USA reissue Big Muff and while I've had some luck with it, I haven't really found the ideal setting yet. In that light I was wondering if the Big Muff users here could share their settings. For the record, I usually play a Fender Jazz into an Ashdown. Thanks everyone!
i ordered mine today, so i cant help you, but any response will help me with mine, i also play a jazz....
I have a new Russian version, but my settings are as follows - Sustain - 4:40 o'clock Volume - 1:30 o'clock Tone - 10 o'clock
I have a Russian muff but if it helps here are my settings. Light distortion: Volume: 12 Sustain: 9 Tone: 1/2 Heavier distortion: Volume: about 12 Sustain: Full Tone: 12
Thanks to everyone that's posted so far, I've made note of everything and I'll playing around with them when I have some time to crank everything up loud. In the meantime, keep 'em coming...
(on a russian re-issue) Heavy fuzzed-up distortion (cliff-style): sustain: full volume: as needed Tone: 3-4 o'clock Lighter distortion: Sustain: 8 o'clock Tone: 1 o'clock Volume: as needed Sludgy, bassy fuzz: Tone: 8:30 Volume: as you like Sustain: 3 o'clock
Those are good responses for a really trebly, fuzzed up sound. If you want a warmer, overdriven sound: Volume: adjust to whatever you need Tone: 8:45-9:00 Sustain 6:30
