I don't think I have ever had such a mind-numbing attaction to a bass. This is amazing!!!

yep. I am struggling right now. I would have to sell my Q5 to bank role that or a Ken Smith neckthrough (which I also think I want right now), and I can't settle that in my head.

My Q5 has some very serious vibe to it.

is that some spaltage in the maple?
Like the dark streaks near the soundhole?
    Or is that just reflection?

I always liked the look of the Otiels- this one's even better!
If it was a fretless 5...

ah, nevermind, I just saw in the pic link that it describes it as quilted/spalted...

This is probably only me, but i think those things are butt ugly man!

Gold hardware on such a busy and figured top? It looks like puke man!

The blue sadowsky i can tolerate, just.

    go-on, flame me.

You're entitled to your own opinion.

  12. Just for the record... NO!!!

    :D

    Jeff

  13. It is probably you, cause I like golden hardware, especialy on lighter shades of top :D.
Or it could also be just me  .

The blue sadowsky is very nice. I used to dislike the sight of such light-coloured fretboards, but now I'm liking them. The black hardware is cool.

  16. pff, it can't make you puke that much (yeh i'm flaming you) :dragon: i think it would be better as 4 string's.

Nino, quit showing that blue Sadowsky! That bass has been the start of some serious arguments between me and the warden (wife)

Wife: "You want to spend how much on a bass? What the hell is wrong with the ones you have?!"

Me: "uhhhhhhhhhhh..... I don't have a blue one..."

    It was not fun...

    simple grained woods.

Is that so bad? im sure these all sound great, just not something i like the look of.
Theres beauty in a wood, but then if it gets to busy and "wavy" as it were, it gets nauseating. Flame maple is as far as i can go before i think its too much. Quilted just literally reminds me of vomit.
Gold hardware makes that "tack" statement to me. Im not saying that it IS tack, just makes me think tack.

    I forgot to put...IMHO.

    god im tired.

    night night all ;)
