Was wondering if anyone has any large arpeggios? Starting low and ending very high? Personally the biggest I know is the first 3 from moonlight sonata third movement does anyone know any bigger?

Before reading your thread I was quite sure you were talking about stuff like "My friends of misery" by Metallica & "Seemann" by Rammstein. They'r the only arpeggios I can play. Besides, I do love arpeggios. ;)

Ah not quite :) I was just wondering what the biggest one anyway has seen on any instrument to try to put it on bass :) or maybe not a famous song? If anyone has managed to put one in one of their own songs :) and yes they are fun ^_^ challenging but fun :)

I just played an arpeggio starting with an open B string, ending on the 24th fret of the G string. How's that for size?

To make that a pure arpeggio (i.e., outlining one specific chord), that would most likely have been a B7(b9). I suppose it could have been a Bmin7(b9) - B phrygian.

This illustrates the point that any "biggest" arpeggio is the function of how many strings your bass has and how you have it tuned. On a four-banger in standard tuning, the biggest you can get is EMaj7 or EminMaj7.

  7. It could just be a 1st inversion G major arpeggio ( a.k.a. G/B )

It could also have been a B+ chord, but I had G/B in mind - and was being facetious. I don't know where you get the b9 from unless you thought I wrote C string.

  9. Studied theory for going on 3 years now and I have to say I'm fuzzy on the whole "big arpeggio" term.

I think the OP was talking about the span of fingerboard you have to cross from 1st to last note.
