Bill Laswell, the uber-prolific producer, composer and bassist who introduced the world to Grandmixer D.ST (and subsequently this whole "scratching" thing the kids love) on Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" has been enlisted to score the anime DVD Street Fighter Alpha: Generations. A direct-to-DVD project from anime-juggernaut Manga, the film tells the origin story of the main character from Street Fighter, Ryu, as well as the never-before revealed origins of Ryu's sparring-partner Ken and the evil Akuma (a.k.a. Gouki). Now that Laswell is on this whole "yoga fire" tip, we suggest he get down with Arizona's Ryu Vs. M. Bison and show the world what a "sonic boom" really sounds like. Word to Capcom. Link.
