Anyone know what bas/amp setup he used for Billy Idols Rebel Yell album? Love that tone on Eyes Without a Face.

  2. according to the liner notes on the "11 of the best" compilation "eyes without a face" was Sal Cuevas. J bass?

Rebel yell sounds like a J bass. (the notes say steve webster played on this)

I like Phil Feit's tone on "White wedding" a lot- sounds like a Rick.

some pics here- looks like Feit used a J bass, at least live.

  3. Resurrected thread of the day!!!

Does Phil play finger or pick style?

Hmm good question. Sounds like fingers on Rebell Yell, pick on White Wedding...

  4. Nice bass tones on all Billy's hits. Dancing w/myself=velvety schmoov sold-out power-pop/punkish uber-commercial faux-new-wave. I say that w/love.

Don't forget some love for Thommy Price's solid "2 & 4" drumming on those tracks either.
