I thought you guys might be interested in seeing this.

I'll leave my opinion aside for now, all I'll say it's that it's quite interesting how Billy clearly has a little trouble with the pinch harmonics at the beginning.

That really is the stupidest thing I've ever done.

I had it open at the time and just left it out.

Painful to watch and hear-I guess the Peter Principle applies to music, too. Pathetic.

tbh sheehan never struck em as an exceptionally tasteful player, and this is a good example of him going too far beyond his role imo

This is a strange interpretation. It sounds like Sheehan is sitting between chairs.
I'm sure he could pull it out with a straight Jaco tone and a copicat of the original song.
Or he could go more extreme and rock it out, with more aggressivity and flashiness and it too could be awesome.
He's just in between, so it sounds like badly done fusion or shallow rock. A missed intention IMHO.

I' ve heard worse... In fact, I think it's quite cool.
Listen to Billys sound. Do ya think he listened to Entwistle much?

C'mon....it's not that bad...it's not like he's trying to pull off a Jaco tribute. Don't be such snobs. Isn't music supposed to be about interpretation/stylistic representation. Ever hear Hayseed Dixie cover Highway to Hell? :)

don't think billy should be playing Jaco...besides the mised harmonics he missed all the licks Jaco has in there which kinda make the song...I'm not saying billy isn;t a great player but Jaco ain't for him....far as the tribute thing naaaaaaaaaa...Neil Peart from rush did a Buddy rich tribute and he sounded like Buddy Rich!!! just my 2 cents worth

Don't forget though that Buddy is one of Neil's biggest influences though...he adores him.

I've seen this video before. I don't think it's a terrible performance on Billy's part (but the guy on keys has a shockingly bad tone). It doesn't seem to have that loose swinging feeling of the original. Billy is a still a monster player though, and if he wanted to do the harmonic intro like Jaco did then he could.
