I've been getting into Stu Hamm's stuff lately. One of my guitarist friends, who's like Nr Big, recommended I listen to some of Billy Sheehan's stuff. But I've got no idea where to begin. What would be a good start? or can you recemmend an album that he really shines on, and is a good introduction to his playing.
He was originally with a band called Talas. Try "Sink You Teeth" or "Live Speed On Ice". If you can find it, a CD was produced called Billy Sheehan - The Talas Years. It has both of the mentioned albums on one CD

"Working Man" tribute to Rush has some of his playing on there that is pretty sharp. Even some Hamm on there, too. "Bump Ahead" from Mr. Big is a good one, too. I saw that concert and Pat Torpey played the best drum solo I've ever heard...
