I am building myself a bass, from parts. I have a blank for the body, and i would love to "bind" it.

The neck i have has white blocks and binding, so i would like to bind the body in black.

How do you do this? is it simple or should i not try it?

    thanks!

    One more thing,
You are very limited with contour. As far as I know you cant have any contours on the side of the body you want to bind.

    my body is Ric shaped.
    Thats alot of contours, right?

  4. ... wrong contours. Contour as in arm and belly cuts/carving. It has to be a slab body.

Ah, and by the way, i said the wrong body. the body i want to bind is a reverse thunderbird.

  7. Contours are fine, the Aerodyne and Frank Bello signature both have those contours and binding.

Reverse Firebird shouldn't be a problem. Are you doing the stepped up center?

How in the heck would one rout for a forearm contour binding? Warmoth offers it... I figured it was all CNC magic only.

One routs the forearm contour of a body by following the radius along the edge of the body with the tool posted above

    iplaybasstexas,

Make sure the blank you have has square edges. You can't retrofit binding on a body that already has its egdes radiused.
