i had no idea EB-0s with les paul JR body shapes even existed until just now
I followed this to the last second on ebay... I really wanted it, but in the end I had to be honest with myself that I have too many personal projects (that's a first for me).
So glad you got this Bro, looking forward to seeing your magic!
So pleased it went to you in the end, Carlo.
This will be worth watching.
No, that's Gibson 0 591.
Seriously, that might be like the 2nd best looking Gibson bass of all time! I'd say 2nd to the RD and slightly above my '13 EB.
Very curious to see how your going to go about this. I've often thought of getting a crappy neck thru, chopping off the wings and attaching t bird wings. Now maybe I'll know HOW to do it. Rock on.
Actually a lot easier if you can make cuts that are parallel to the centerline of the neck. This one will be getting cuts at an angle followed up by router with a bottom bearing bit and template to get the edge perfect in prep for grafting on Honduras Mahogany extensions.
I'm hopeful it will end up looking like a NOS version of my other '77.
Sub'd. Oh boy, will this be great!
Tracing the body on the other bass for the shape? Convent having that.
Damn this is making me want another gibson!
I saw this on ebay!
Sweeeeeeet I saw that on ebay to but I dont have the skills to fix that, will be cool to watch
Subbed! This oughta be good!
I thought about bidding on that myself, but I've got too many projects stacked up as it is (just finished one today, in fact. I'll be posting a thread as soon as I have the time). I have no doubt you'll do a top-rate job, Carlo!
Can't wait to see this resto.
Oh my goodness...
I would template the electronics pocket and lop the wings off either side of the center ridge then rebuild the wings completely. That way you won't have awkward glue lines in the future.
I was kinda thinking the same thing too - How come you decided to cut off the wings at an angle instead, Carlo?
