Black Diamonds Bass Guitar?

Hi I was wondering if any of you guys could take a look at this old clip from the 60's of the Black Diamonds and tell me or have a guess at what kind of Bass he is using. It has a small scroll head and Viola bass body. I thought maybe it was a custom Maton, but I am still unsure. I'd love to own one or get one custom made.
