Usually a dyed top looks good on flame or quilt. How would that type of finish look on just an ash body. Throwin' ideas around...

Now I would take that finish over almost any other. I love it. I was just wondering about the dye black top. If there was a transparent black, that would be fine as well.

thanks, I like that look...just what I needed.

Warmoth does dyes, but recommends them for figured top. Wasn't sure how it would look on ash.

If you get a very figured piece of Ash with lots of grain i am sure it would look great, see if they would do it.

i have been thinking about hte same thing- Warmoth will only do a black dye on a figured top- not on Ash... :(

black dye on quilt or flame is great looking, no question. I was just considering black dye on ash. I wonder if USACG can have it done (Roxy...)

Is a black dye the same thing as a black stain?

sounds like it, but I'm not sure. Basically looking for a nice glossy, translucent black over ash.

prefer the whole bass if it an ash body, but I know Warmoth won't do dye top and back

yeah, I know that one. I would love to have that finish, but I will never have an FBass (too expensive) and I don't know of anyone else that does it.

I'll let you know what he says just in case someone else is interested also. Maybe I will be lucky and he will do the ceruse without costing an arm, leg, and kidney (but I won't hold my breath....)
