i saw this today in a store, $100 for used 15 inch black widow cab, played through it sounded pretty decent, but what do you guys think, good price/deal, or piece of junk probably?

Go for it, unless you really don't like how it sounds.

I have a peavy 115, i paid like 135 for it, its an awesome cab, i don't think you can kill it, the rating is about 235 watts though at 8 homs, go for it, you can always sell it.....

I have one of these cabs also. For that price, I say go for it, provided you like the Peavey sound.

Pros: built like a tank, high power handling, very punchy mid-bass sound

Cons: not really "Warm", some models had less than great handles on them

I like the Peavey 1x15 sound when I need a punchy mid-bass heavy sound, especially for 80s music. If you need more low-end rumble, an AMpeg may be for you.

Personally, I mostly use an old 1982 Peavey Mark IV head with a 115BX/BW cab.

    I'd say go for it.

I like Black Widows -- I think the Kevlar-impregnated cones make them sound warm yet punchy.
