Black Wilkinson Tuners FS/FT

I had the same problem with those on my P bass. The auction even said they fit Precisions. Ha. I got them on with a drill. I haven't had any problem with them, but it looks pretty lame on the back, and there is a gap. Hopefully it isn't going to damage the instrument.

 

Sorry to derail, but I don't understand what you guys mean. I had no problem fitting them.

 

Odd. Mine have to overlap a little bit. I used a drill to put the screws in, so they are secure, but there is a tiny space between the headstock and the base of the tuning machine. It isn't a major problem, that I know of, but it looks cheap.

Perhaps Wilkinson made different sized sets and you ended up with smaller ones. Beats me.

 

Ah... ok, I get it.
More likely SX has some variably spaced holes in the headstock?

FYI, they fit in a Mighty Mite Jazz neck just fine too.

I'll let you know tomorrow on this. I had a set sent to me and they screwed up and sent the wrong ones. I just need them to show up for work and read their email so they know what's up. They might offer to replace or refund. But I may just go with yours. I have a fresh jazz neck with no mounting holes so these should work. What the diameter of the bushings? ID and OD please.
