I am finishing up pieced together P Bass. Warmoth all maple neck, Squier body, SD Quarter Pounder, BA-II bridge, Hipshot tuners with x-tender D-tuner, tort pick guard. Been my fourth bass project and lots of fun!

My headstock is blank being a warmoth replacement neck. What would you do from a decal or label standpoint?

You could make something personal, as opposed to copying or simulating a major brand logo. For example, my daughters are named Mia, Nicole and Kate. I made up some headstock logos with a "MiNK" theme to incorporate their initials:

Get a custom logo done from a fellow TBer. I just ordered one he does great work.

My top three options would be:

    1) design a custom decal, there's a TBer here that makes custom waterslides

    2) leave it blank

    3) Warmoth decal

Put a Squier decal on it, and then remove it, and put a Fender decal in its place.

Either leave it blank or have a decal made up with your last name on it.

I love blank headstocks ... it says absolutely nothing, and leaves the handful that might be in the audience that would even care what I am playing ... wondering ;)

I've decided to leave it blank since the bass doesn't belong to any one manufacturer. I am going to sign my initials on the back side of the headstock to make it personal since I am the assembler and leave it at that. Thanks for the advice and opinions. I like the ih8law's photos....nice work!!!

I designed my own graphics in Photoshop. Printed the waterslide decal myself, on my inkjet printer and spayed it with a coat of clear lacquer before applying it. I had the neck plate engraved by a seller on eBay using my graphics. It's a genuine Fender part.

Just figured I'd post it since other folks may want the same thing....

TBer lavmonga makes custome waterslide decals, and he does nice work, dealt with him before.

itd be cool to make up a custom decal that's like a letter jumble of a well-established company (Nefred from fender, Nazebi from Ibanez, whatever). At least I think it would be cool
