Hey guys, been working on a jazz bass project since the beginning of the summer. I was wondering what you guys think would go better with a chrome red jazz body. Black pearl block inlays or white pearl block inlays on a maple neck. The pickguard is going to be red tort or black pearl. If you guys could photoshop or show me your basses with these inlays, it would point me into the right direction. Thanks a lot kids!

  2. Black. I never really dug white pearl on darker colored basses. Actually I only like it on blond or white.

You're planning on a dark pickguard so I'd say you have to go with the black pearl blocks, ESPECIALLY if you're using a black pearl pickguard.

  6. are those the stickers from inlaystickers.com? They don't really look like a pearl?

I'm not much of a block guy, but if there are going to be blocks on a maple fretboard, I'll pick white pearl every time.

  9. I purchased these from a company called Creative Cuts. They are White Pearl overlays that are vinyl based with a Polypropylene White Pearl top coat that looks fantastic...Unfortunately the pictures don't really show off the Pearl that well.

    IMO:
    Always black blocks on maple.
Always Pearl blocks on rosewood/dark fingerboards.

    IMO!

  11. Is this to be a bound fretboard? that could make a difference
