I just got a Mesa 400+ amp and there is a fynky rattle in it . I removed the top and 3 of the 12 power tubes 6L6 Are glowing blue around the top of the tube. And the sound is coming from the tubes. I am more concerned with the blue glow . I have heard it is normal with 6650 tubes but not 6L6 tubes. Should I just replace the tubes or bring it back to be repaired and have them put in whatever they get to replace whats is in there.

    Thanks Steve :eyebrow:

6L6 tubes do that as well. I think most beam power tubes do. That's caused by stray electrons striking the glass envelope and releasing photons. It's usually nothing to worry about.

    I kind of think it's perdy! :D

Yep. Completely normal and to be expected.
