Tommixx, I'm jealous. Do you notice that you play better when your gear has blue lights on the front? Is there a more relaxed, smoother, "in the groove" sort of feeling to your sound? Over the years I've used every type of gear you can think of, and the stuff with the red, yellow or orange lights seemed to affect my playing in a negative way. Too many notes played, such as complicated 32nd note fills when a simple triplet run would do. Then there was the time I broke into a Jack Bruce on crack version of "Crossroads" right in the middle of the Eagles version of "Desperado". When we listened to the playback the next day, I just sat there with a stupid look on my face. I don't know what happened, but I think it was because of all the orange lights on the gear. It may not be related, but it also seems like when all the gear on stage has blue, green or purple lights, the musicians get along better. On the other hand, many years ago I played an outdoor event where the whole backline was Ampeg and Fender gear with ALL RED LIGHTS. By the end of the set we were all at each others throats. The singer threatened to shove a wah-wah pedal up the guitar player's a$$, the drummer refused to play anything but ZZ Top, and I was real close to punching in the "low boost" button on the bass amp just to see if I could blow up the subs on the PA. I don't think I'm alone on this one, as there was an old thread about the Blue Light effect in which others reported the same phenomenon. Anyway, if you decide to unload that clunky old Blue Light U5, shoot me a PM.
