SOLD SOLD SOLD Awesome "new" Bluesman Vintage P-bass. I am just not a passive P guy. 1-5/8" nut, 8 lbs, David Allen pickup (which is fairly hot). Great tone and totally worn-in feel. Fretwork is excellent. Nitro 3-tone sunburst finish, includes the bell and bridge cover as well as the new soft case.

$1250 shipped in the CONUS. Sorry, no trades - too many basses in the house.

There bass kill for the money.
    Classic vintage tone and feel.
If I did not already own two of these, I would be all over it.

  3. WOW! Bluesman basses are legit!!! I played the prototype t-bird a few weeks ago and I fell in love!

I am looking into a Bluesman P bass when my Quantum 5 sells...hopefully one this nice will be around when it sells!

John's work is top-notch. I've just decided to just play the snot out of my Foderas and sell everything else (except my Rob Allen). Frankly this is better than any Fender custom shop example I've played. The David Allen pickup sounds awesome and has serious balls.

Cool bass! What's the weight? And how would you describe the sustain?

I've been jonesing for a Custom Shop, since the ones I've tried have been really resonant, with a depth/complexity of tone that standard MIA Fenders just don't, not to mention feel. But the Bluesman is really intriguing--and a whole lot less cash!

8.0 lbs according to my scale. Balance is excellent as is playability and sustain. I really like the David Allen pickup. It is a very cool bass and frankly is better than the Fenders I've owned (and I've had a few good ones). But for fretted bass my heart lies with my Foderas. Just sold my Sadowsky, sold a Skjold a month ago, and this is the last one on the block.

Not sure. Feels close to vintage wire (Nordstrand uses that, and my latest Fodera has what they call "small" which feels similar). I'm guessing the radius is either 7.5" or 9.5". It is not particularly flat but feels a bit faster than a vintage neck. I do know the nut is 1-5/8".

The goal was a late 60's/70's P-bass - "B" neck, 3-tone sunburst, black pg. This bass nails the vibe in an 8.0 lb package with tone for days.

I would be all over this, but...I have a P-bass that John is making me as we speak.
    Can't wait to play it.
John has been a great guy to deal with.
More to come and good luck with your sale of this bass.
