I'm in the process of obtaining all the warmoth parts for my dream 5 string. The neck is Maple/Maple and I'm thinking of going with an all Western Maple body. Tung oil on neck and body. Passive elects with an exposed pole piece EMG HZ (kind of MM looking) at the true bridge postion (not sweet spot)...totally passive (I'll use an active pedal). My question is...I've got plenty of bass headroom on my amp...should I be worried about an overly Bright bass because of the all Maple construction? I don't want a swamp ash body...don't like the tone. I've played an all maple neck through (ric) and loved the tone. I'm not trying to get a Bolt On bass to sound like a ric...just thought Maple seemed like a damn good choice for a bass body. Any Luthier opinions are greatly appreciated. I play total fingerstyle with no slapping/popping or pick playing.
