A search of the archives hasn't thrown up much about these basses. They're designed by Ned Steinberger and built by Bolin Guitars. I was wondering if any Talkbassers have experience of these?

I've just discovered that the UK distributor/official dealer is about 5 minutes walk from where I live, so I'm off tomorrow morning to hopefully try out a 5 string model.

Cool ! I hope you can try one out and post a review of it.

I have been ogling those basses from time to time and find them very interesting - both design and looks.

  3. I had one for a short time. It was a five string model with the EMG system and piezos. I thought it was a cool bass, except the string spacing was kind of narrow. Also, the piezo system, while nice, didn't really sit in a mix right for my tastes. Lastly, I couldn't get used to the strap hook. Those minor annoyances aside, I thought it was well-made, good-looking, and had a lot of potential to be someone's main player.
