This may possibly send sterling prices down more. I may be able to get one by summer.
  4. Exactly.

I'm still sorta withholding judgement until I play one.

It does look better when on a player...

    is that Dave LaRue?
  9. That actually doesn't look too bad, as the upper horn looks ok when the strap is on. The lower horn still kind of bothers me, but its not that big of a deal. I would like to try one of the two pickup 5 strings.

I dig the pickups... and the knobs...

I don't dig the body, the headstock, or anything else on it. Do they use the same type of neck on it as the Sterling? I thought i heard something like that.....

This bass is shaped for the future.
It will soon be a classic.
Just like new car designs look odd when they pop out.

    Atlanta / Macon (sigh)
Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
I don't care if a nude Miss America was holding it, it's still an ugly bass.

You guys sound like my dad talking about volkswagens in the 60's. Its different...I'll withhold judgement until playing one and living with the design for a while. I thought a single cut was ugly when i first saw one but its grown on me a bit.

Man...we've seen a lot of ugly cars that were "futuristic" at the time. Those cars have come and gone and not become any less ugly (how about those bubble tops and gigantic tail-fins, eh?). Your point only applies to SOME cars. If I think something's ugly now I'm probably not gonna think it's awesome in the future.

That bass just looks like it would weigh a ton! I'm not gonna bash the shape tho, I have seen worse!

aside from the shape of the horns and head, it looks good. don't know why they chose that kinda squarish look....

and maybe they called it the bongo because people wanted to hit it perhaps?
