Boogie 400+ dual channel use?

Im picking my boogie bass 400+ up today, it's been retubed and serviced ready for another hammering ;-)

The reason for my post is to find out how to utilize both channels on the amp at once, I remember reading about this somewhere online but can't seem to find it again!!

I heard it's supposed to sound much better this way? Do I just get a special lead which splits into two jacks? Or would I need some kind of signal splitter box?

Does anyone have any experience of using the amp in this way who can comment on performance?
