My niece got a bass and amp for Christmas and it is now up to me to get her started. She will be getting real lessons in a few months. My plan will be to get a book for beginner bass playing (one copy for me, one copy for her) and work through it one chapter or section at a time. I plan to go over there about once a week. I would be there to clear up any questions, go over technique and work through the material with her. I am hoping that some of you TB'ers can suggest a good book for this. I know, back when I was playing alto sax in school, over the summer I'd take lessons. The teacher took this approach. We had the book that presented material and ideas with exercises that promoted the use of said material. I wanna work through a book like this with her to give a solid foundation. I can maybe teach some songs she wants to learn, help her organize her practice time, and try to make playing fun also. We live in the USA which may effect availability of material. HELP, what book would be good for this? and Thank You for any help you can give me.
