Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by CRICKETBREATH, May 9, 2004.

  1. question to any HARDCORE bootsy fans that posess much more than a greatest hits cd.........

in your opinion, is there any bootsy projects outside of james, parliament/funkadelic,rubber band that are really worth checking into for bootsy's liquid bass playing? if so what specific cds?
    c'mon, i'm hungry.

He had a side band called Sweatband, and he also played with Xavier, which was a very funky project.

Praxis. It's kind of a rock/metal/funk/ambient/noise band. Bootsy, Buckethead, Bill Laswell, Brain and a DJ and keyboardist I can't think of. Good stuff.

IMO the JB, PFunk and Best of are the cream of the crop. But, there is a bunch of other stuff out there that is pretty cool.

He played on most of the Parliament albums. sometimes on bass, sometimes on drums. He's a damn good drummer.

Didn't he play with James BRown for a while, dunno if they recorded anything, I think he was fired pretty quick from that gig.

Oh course, a few of those things have to be comps. I don't have much time to check it out, I'm on a break at work.
