I just moved to the bay area two weeks ago, and I don't know a soul here. Or worse yet, I don't know where the cool bass shops are! Tragedy!

If anybody is interested in hanging out, grabbing a beverage, or doing the music store crawl give me a yell.

How can you be bored in san francisco?

My friends mom was telling us this story about how she was walking down a street and found a big d**do in the gutter.

Now, how can a place like that be boring?

Hunting for dildoes is not exactly my idea of fun, Mr. Money.

    King Missile - Detachable Penis

I woke up this morning with a bad hangover
And my penis was missing again.
    This happens all the time.
    It's detachable.

This comes in handy a lot of the time.
I can leave it home, when I think it's gonna get me in trouble,
or I can rent it out, when I don't need it.
But now and then I go to a party, get drunk,
and the next morning I can't for the life of me
remember what I did with it.
First I looked around my apartment, and I couldn't find it.
So I called up the place where the party was,
    they hadn't seen it either.
I asked them to check the medicine cabinet
'cause for some reason I leave it there sometimes
    But not this time.
So I told them if it pops up to let me know.
I called a few people who were at the party,
but they were no help either.
I was starting to get desperate.
I really don't like being without my penis for too long.
It makes me feel like less of a man,
and I really hate having to sit down every time I take a leak.
After a few hours of searching the house,
and calling everyone I could think of,
I was starting to get very depressed,
so I went to the Kiev, and ate breakfast.
Then, as I walked down Second Avenue towards St. Mark's Place,
where all those people sell used books and other junk on the street,
I saw my penis lying on a blanket
next to a broken toaster oven.
    Some guy was selling it.
I had to buy it off him.
He wanted twenty-two bucks, but I talked him down to seventeen.
I took it home, washed it off,
and put it back on. I was happy again. Complete.
People sometimes tell me I should get it permanently attached,
    but I don't know.
Even though sometimes it's a pain in the ass,
I like having a detachable penis.

  5. jazzbo is in the bay area, maybe you and him can go out for tofu together :D

How are you liking SF anyways? I know you were on a big quest to find a new place to live.

So far it's pretty cool. It's alot colder than I'm used to, I met a lovely half Asian/white chick who won't talk to me, and I may be getting a job at Gelb Music, the local F Bass, Boogie, Aguilar, Lakeland, etc. dealer. Maybe that will get me friends!:D

Probably because you have friends. Possibly a job, too.

I'm going to be catching Michael Franti next week and Michael Manring the week after that. That will definitly help. Might even meet some TBers at the Manring show.

    I quit walmart awhile ago...

Me, Friends... ha. ;) :( :bawl:

Plus, I don't think Michael Manring will be making an Edinboro appearance anytime soon. Stuff happens in San Fran is my point. When you get some buds up there, you won't have time to be bored.

I'll try and book some shows for my band, so you'll have something to do.

Perhaps I will get a band going quick enough to where we could open for your band. I promise to be the perfect warm up act and suck incredibly.

Bored in San Francisco???!!! Dude, come on...

Amoeba Music, corner of Haight and Stanyan. Best music (not instrument) store EVER. Period.

Hop the 66, 7, or 71 line for a couple minutes and you are at....

Toronado Bar, corner of Haight and Fillmore. Best beer pub. EVER.

Drive 3 hrs to Lake Tahoe. Drive north an hour to Napa/Sonoma and drink free wine. Ride your bike (or rent one) across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, have lunch, take the ferry back to Fisherman's Wharf. Drive 1.5 hrs to Santa Cruz. Drive a little further to Monterey and check out the aquarium. Take the BART across the bay to Berkeley and have beers at Jupiter, pizza at Blondie's. Go see a heavyweight jazz act at Yoshi's in Oakland, arrive early, have sushi, get a good seat.

I could go on for days. Just pick up a Guardian or SF Weekly and start sniffing around. Endless food, music, and fun to be had.

Been to Amoeba, Golden Gate, Sausalito, Fisherman's Wharf, Yoshi's, and other places. All very fun and cool. I just wish I had somebody to hang out with, that's all.

Cool. If I can get a band together soon, perhaps an all TB night will be in order. That would warrant some serious gig-spam.
