  1. I'm getting bored lately playing bass.

I have a church gig once a week and the rest of the time I'm just playing at home by myself. I'm tired of the usual practice routine, I want to play some music! I don't have time to get involved with any other bands so what am I to do?

I feel lost when playing alone. I can't seem to do anything unless I have someone playing something on guitar or piano that I can support. Any ideas on what I can do to make playing alone fun?

If you want more out of the Bass, you should consider what changes you can and will make to get in a situation where you can get more out of being a Bassist.

If you don't try to alter the situation you're in, it won't change much, will it?

when I get bored I generally start jamming to random stuff... not learning the tunes, just the changes and groove your own groove to what else is going on. I've got a *bunch* of Cds all ripped to a hard drive... so I just queue up about 40GB of MP3s and randomizes them.

that or I program a drum line and jam to that....

:meh: actually I quit for 4 years for bordom and frustrations with local musicians.
