Boss ME-50 OK?

Hi, I have an unused Boss ME-50 (not ME-50B), the guitar version, here in the studio. Must say it's pretty flexible and fun for bass playing. But not sure if this guitar-centric effect has issues with low-end bass sounds, filtering mid-range bias and so on...I know it does not have a separation for low-end concerning chorus and distortion but that is fine for me.

Anyone else used ME-50s (not ME-50Bs) for bass gigs? Any experiences?

 

I better answer this in case a Google search picks this thread up. Well, just for fun I took it out for a spin at a local jam where I was the house bass player. The ME-50 (not 50B) indeed sucks out the low end from bass sounds so I would not at all recommend this combination. Unless you push the signal via a pre-amp or something similar or use a effect send/return. But just having it in front of an amp is not a good idea.
