    Hi!

I was wondering if Boss's compact pedals have a better sound
than ME-50B? I have a bass guitar and an amp now, and I'm
actually looking around for some limiter/compressor effects,
but I came across with LMB-3 (where I'm presuming that limiter/
compressor and enhancer are basically the same thing... Am I
terribly wrong here?). Anyway, then I found ME-50B which seems
an obvious choice as I intend to buy some other effects too...some day...

so, the priority is the limiter/compressor effect and the sound of
it - is LMB-3 the thing I'm looking for or is it the same with ME-50B?

    thank you for your help!

The LMB-3 has a presence control and one other knob that the ME-50B doesn't, but the ME-50B has other compression options that the LMB doesn't have. Plus, the ME-50B has a tuner & volume pedal, so even if you don't use effects, it's still worth buying for those things.
