I have a tech 21 ac wall adapter and I would like to know if you can use it with a Boss pedal (geb-7). Boss says use their PSA series adapter. But does it really matter? They are both 9 volts. Not sure of the polarity. Perhaps Boss just wants people to go out and buy their adapter or does is it really have to be theirs in order for the unit to work properly??

Any 9v supply with a negative tip should work.

They'll both work, same voltage, same polarity. No problem.

Not ALL Tech21 adapters will work. The old ones had EH style tips.

    Just being difficult :)
  7. Some of the older (Japan) Boss pedals like the CS-2, require an "ACA" adapter. If so, there should be a little sticker by the jack stating so.

I don't know how the ACA adapter differs, only that the typical (PSA?) adapters won't work properly in that situation.
