    Hiya,

I've just ordered myself the aforementioned Boss RC-3 loop station, and I'm gonna assume it goes here in the effects forum...

Anyhow, I was wondering if there are any other Tbers out there that have one of these lovely little things and have any advice or general knowledge/funny looper related stories etc.... :)

Not an RC-3, but I do own an RC-20XL, and all I can say is, spend some time with it. It can be tricky hitting the loop at the "exact" moment you need it, but with practice, you can do loop over loop over loop, etc. RC-3 has ALOT of record time, have fun with it.

I have the boss RC-30, but I think it's pretty similar. I recommend you record with the rhythm (metronome/drums) engaged. When the rhythm feature is off, the pedal loops what you record from the time you press the pedal until you press the pedal again. As RickenBoogie has pointed out, it can be tricky to hit it at the exact moment you need to. Being just the slightest bit off will get you way off tempo very quickly.

With the rhythm function engaged, it will record to the end of the current measure, so you can hit the pedal a moment early, and it will end in perfect time. (it records at doubling intervals i.e. 1 measure, 2 measures, 4 measures, 8 measures 16 measures etc.) I have found this mode much easier to use, your loop will stay in time with whatever tempo you have selected.

These pedals require a little patience, but it is a lot of fun when you get the hang of it. I don't have much time to jam with others, so it is a nice option. I use it with multiple instruments btw.

I've been playing with it for a couple days now and I love it - once I had messed around with it a bit!

It is on my wish list. Looks like a very cool pedal.

    Cheers!

I had an RC-2 for a while and I loved it. I stopped playing with loops and eventually sold it. Kinda wish I hadnt. Ive got a tc Ditto now, and while I like it, its not as good as my old RC-2.

I bought my son one for Christmas.
He plays guitar and can put Down a rhythm track and solo(duh).

He likes it but its pretty finicky. It tends to really magnify noise while in line with his other pedals. I think we figured out it was power adapter noise.

Works well now. Tons of memory, lots of files.

    Have fun with it.
