BOSS SE50 for bass??????

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by vdbroek81, Mar 11, 2004.

  1. Hi, in my search for a rackmount multieffect I found an (old) Boss SE50
    (http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/903/) which I can buy for 115 Euro's.

As it has the effects on board I am intereseted in I am thinking of taking the risk....But before I decide, anyone who knows this unit and is it suitable for Bass?

    Many thanks for your answer!

I don't know a lot about the SE-50, but I've owned and used an SE-70 the model after it for about 10 years.

The SE-70 is fine for use with bass.....guitar, keyboards and vocals. I'm not sure what the diffeences between the 2 units are, but they do have a lot of similarities (a previous guitarist in our band had one, I didn't get to play much with it, but he liked it - although he reckoned the SE-70 was easier to get around in because of the dial on it!)

There are SE-50s and SE-70s cropping up from time to time on ebay for not bad prices.....if you don't like it, I reckon you could get your money back.

  3. Johnny, you made a good point. I am going to pick it up today.
    Thanks
