Boss Tu-2 Pedal Tuner

  1. hey does anyone know of any way to rig this thing to tune both when its muting the signal and when its not... this would be great because sometimes i like to detune on stage and then back again and i also like to tune silently between songs.

Not sure if I understand what you are asking. Are you saying you want to tune while the signal is still audible?

Otherwise, I would think the muting function would work best for you, like you said, 'silently between songs'. I love that it mutes the signal when tuning, so I've not tried to get it to function the other way.

  3. well i want it to do BOTH. I want to be able to tune while still hearing myself and then press the pedal to switch it to mute and tune... this way i can accurately detune while playing live

You can't do both without switching the output cable.

I still don't understand why you would need both, and I don't think Boss does either. If you need to hear it, what's the point of having a tuner?

  5. so i know its accurate. I guess no one understand what im trying to do. When i want to tune up i want to do it silently as not to annoy everyone BUT i love doing cool detune tricks while playing (say after a solo dropping the E string down to maybe C or so then back up to E to go into the song). I basically always want the tuner on whether im in normal or bypass mode. I was thinking maybe some form of y-splitter cable or something but i am really pretty stumped. I guess there really is no way to do it.

  6. Sounds to me like you need a Hipshot D-tuner. You can tune your E down to C and back again with the flip of a lever.

  7. that would be kinda cool but i like just screwing with the tuning kind of like an effect. I guess i could get a kahler tremelo or a bass whammy or a hipshot but i just wanted to know if i could do it with what i have :)
