For more than a decade, bass players of all levels have been gathering for the Bozeman Bass Bash (BBB) in the Rocky Mountains to learn from some of the most influential bass players of our time. We offer great clinics, informative tech sessions, live performances and lunch courtesy of Bozeman Subway. Our bass clinicians this year are Gerald Veasley, Bass Player Magazines columnist Adam Nitti and Ryan Beck. New this year will be two technical clinics by Fred Bolton (BEE basses) and Wayne LaFarr (Aphex) to help you to get the most out of your sound. Registered attendees have a chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes including a Gibson Les Paul bass and Peavey Grind bass. Dont miss this exciting event September 30 thru October 4th. Gerald Veasleys varied and impressive resume includes recording and/or touring with Joe Zawinul of Weather Report, Grover Washington Jr., McCoy Tyner, Special EFX, Teddy Pendergrass, Dianne Reeves, Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire, Pamela Williams, Omar Hakim, and many more. He has shared stages and tours with Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie. Veasley was recently named "Best Electric Bassist" in Jazziz magazine's annual readers' poll and Philadelphia Magazine named him Best Jazz Band. If youve listened to any of Veasleys six solo albums, youll know this is a clinic not to miss. Adam Nitti is a monthly columnist for Bass Player Magazine as well as a first-call session bassist in Atlanta. He has three solo albums on Renaissance Man Records and has toured with Dave Weckl Band, Jimmy Herring, T Lavitz, Jeff Coffin and Angie Aparo. Nitti is the bass department artistic director and instructor at the Atlanta Institute of Music and a staff instructor at Victor Wootens bass camp. He has been featured in over thirty music publications as a profiled artist and in hundreds of corporate commercial spots such as Coca-Cola, Atlanta Braves, Disney, IBM, Cartoon Network, Uptons, Atlanta Hawks, Home Depot and U.S. Marines. This year we will kick the bash off with a KGLT livewire radio show on Tuesday, September 30, at 6:00 PM. On Wednesday, the staff of the BBB will give free bass lessons at 6:30 PM. Friday night there will be a bass centered local showcase concert and following the clinics on Saturday there will be an all clinicians concert. Both of these concerts are open to the public for a $3.00 donation and free for registered attendees. All day Saturday Music Villa will be hosting a bass centered trade show with factory reps. Weve added a BBB after-hours event at the Leaf and Bean (35 W. Main St.) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Please join us for music and open dialogue. All events except the Livewire Radio show and BBB after-hours will be held at Music Villa, 539 E. Main, Bozeman, MT.
