I don't have much knowledge about brands and stuff, and I don't wanna get into that. I've heard a lot on the net about those warwicks and how expensive they are, limited edition and artist models and everything. But today I saw a brand new bass with the "W" logo and the distinctive body shape for about $200(would be about $150 in the US). No way I'm buying it. Just wanted to share this.
It’s probably a fake or trashed - if not, maybe buy it and turn it, or maybe post a link for fellow TBers to checkout?
Well, we have a mall here since the 90s that sells about anything. From cheapest fake stuff($25 Beats by Dr Dre headphones, the real ones cost about $600) to certified electronics(certified warranty PS3s and XBox 360s). There is no website or anything.
warwick rockbass (chinese cheap bass) usually has a rockbass logo on the truss rod cover (on the neck)
The older Rockbasses (With ROCKBASS on the headstock) are not really comparable to Warwicks. Passive electronics, fender-type bridge. That doesn't mean that they're BAD though - If I saw one for $150 I would probably pick it up!
The chinese made "Wolf" brand basses had also "W" logo on their headstock. They have passive pickups, Fender type bridge and they have good sound. Check my message: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/wh...t-instrument-450454/index14.html#post12457060 Altough in those photos the "W" logo is deliberately wiped off by previous owner.
