    Hi Brenton, I don't mind dark on my if they're powerful strings. I play 80% arco (orchestral) and 20% bluegrass/jazz. I need an extended-E string that is easy to bow and has a good bark in the orchestra, then I need that same string to have some growl and sustain for my pizz work.

    Does that describe your experience with the Kaplan heavy extended-E?
