My name is Luke and I have a unique and impossible to find fretless bass for sale that I am sadly not using at all in my current groups :crying: Here's my tale...........

I had requested a willis sig from my local guy at GC and he assured me that one could be had with the ebony fretboard, even though I pointed out that it had been out of production for a few years now, replaced by the vastly inferior (IMHO) ebonol. Well, he placed my order, and after a month of waiting, lo and behold I got one of the newer ones with the ebonol board. I wasn't happy at this point, seeing as how I paid 1700 out the door for the 'rare and impossible to find' version, so I had my guy try a little harder this time, and I found that Hoshino(who own Ibanez) actually has 5 or so of the ebony-board Willis basses that were never sold! Needless to say, the bass I am offering is indeed 'new' in the sense that it has only been in my hands for the last three months.

Its hard to describe the tone of this thing, except that it truly has a transparent sound that is responsive to every set of hands it encounters. Gary must have taken a course in ergonomics, because it is the most comfortable bass to play live, both in the light weight and in the light touch needed to play it correctly. The ramp allows for you to refine your attack and makes the instrument more expressive. Anyways, I'm asking $1050 shipped anywhere in the USA including the original box and packaging. Hit me back via email or on TB.
    Thanks for looking!!!

..buy in a heartbeat if I wasn´t living in Sweden and you USA. On the otherhand, there´s a new GWB-model coming in 2006 (yes, the GWB105 is DISCONTINUED just like the GWB1)..I think I´ll check it out!

I guess it's not worth it for most people to pay 300 more for a bass just because it has an ebony fretboard.

I was hoping someone out there would know the difference between ebanol and the real thing. Plus, I've seen Willis's in a far more used condition going for around 1100 shipped on this very site. Maybe your all as broke as I am. :bawl:

Well, I know the difference, but 300 bucks more is a lot when an ebanol freboard works fine.

Elmon- not really against the rules, but just a suggestion. i would advise against posting your phone number online. just for safety purposes.

also, please try to limit it to 1 bump per 24 hours. and delete all prior bumps (just to help keep the thread clean)

fraublugher- why are you bumping this item for elmon?

Thanks for the info, and bump

  10. I could offer you a used GWB1. I'm currently trying to sell mine. (Fretless is just not my thing)
My GWB1 is located in Germany so shipping could be a bit easier...

PS: sorry for hijacking your thread ElMon :)

    Greetings, Ramanujan

    Bump in the mornin

  15. Free bump for a great bass at a very good price. Despite the comments that it isn't worth the upgrade price, to a fretless player it most certainly would be. Nothing against ebanol as a lower cost alternative to ebony, but they aren't the same thing. Also, I don't know of another bass of this quality that comes with this kind of electronics package, factory ramp, and this kind of beautiful neck profile, that sells for anywhere near a G. lastly, try finding one of these in anything like NOS condition.

If you were entertaining trades I would have tried to make a deal happen.

The mandatory: someone is going to be really happy with this bass.
