So, it pains me to do this, but I need to move this beauty to help get into a new house my wife and I just scored!!!!!

    :hyper:

But, I have closing costs, appliances to by, etc............

I JUST got this amazing instrument on 6/20/09, custom built (my first) with a AAAA Maple top in Blue Green Sunburst, an unlined fretboard and nice 19mm spacing

This bass is, IMO, THE quintessential example of the modern fretless bass. It can sound deep and textured for traditional jazz playing by favoring the neck pickup, balanced and completely responsive to technique/RH placement when played with both pickups, and of course can NAIL 'that Jaco sound' if you want it to.

The EQ is simple but effective, and the lowmid kick that the Thunderguts switch imparts is downright NASTY and I never turn it off. There are two seperate trim pots in the control cavity, one for each switch position, that allow you to dial in or take out that low mid push. Really cool if you want a smooth, unboosted fingerstyle tone and then want to go to an ultra-punchy solo tone at the flick of the switch. VERY cool.

Now, I know that you can find a great used Pentabuzz for way less than I am going to ask, but still, I JUST payed over $4K for this bad boy a month ago. Its FLAWLESS and as close to brand-new as you can get. Haven't even turned in the warranty info.

So, in light of that, and of what I have to cover for the house, let's say

$3200 shipped and paypal'd to the Contl US. NO TRADES.

PRICE LOWERED TO $$2200$$ SHIPPED TO CONTL US!!!!!!!

Thanks for looking, and here's some pics:

Yeah, she's a beauty. This is heartbreaking, but I'm SO excited to have a house. Proportionately, H.A.S (Home Acquisition Syndrome) is much more compelling than is GAS. Don't cry for me though. I'll still have a sweet MTD 535 and an Aguilar rig, not to mention my good looks and dance moves.

I had a Hexabuzz for a while and can speak to the quality of Pedullas- they sound, play, and feel amazing- top notch basses for sure- Someone is going to be very happy with this.

I"ve got D'Addario Nickels on it right now, and that really does seem to be a perfect combo. The amount of mwah you want is completely determined by your left hand technique. I"ve had to clean up some things to be able to play this bass properly, because if you dig in too hard the amount of note swell and growl can overpower everything in the mix. If you make a point to play cleanly, it can sound as solid and fundamental as any fretted bass. Extremely versatile, and I usually leave the pickups dead center and float my right hand position for different tones. I should also add that this bass, more than any other, has made me fall in love with that 'back by the bridge' Jaco tone. With the thunderguts switch and the ability to boost some bass, I found myself using that tone a LOT.

If someone DID have a Roscoe 5 fretless, preferably unlined, that they wanted to trade + cash, I"d be into that. Ditto for a fretless MTD, though I don't see those around often.

Thanks for the kind words. The finish is hands down the coolest I"ve ever seen. Lookin at the bass onstage in between sets, bathed in stagelighting, elicits a "yeah I'm hittin that".

    Sorry, something screamed haiku there.

PS: I've seen this bass in person. The damned thing is as immaculate as the photos suggest.

Dang it, he caught me. Not so much on the dance moves, and the 'looks' comment is only because I'm delusional. Thanks, the truth DOES feel better!

I'm hoping something will open up for me financially, such as a stream of gigs requiring killer fretless lines, so that I can KEEP this beautiful instrument. I was doing some jamming on the RC-20 thru my DB750/GS112 rig, and that Aguilar warmth and depth combined with the growl of this bass...................

Hopefully some other gear will sell..

  20. If I didn't suck horribly playing a fretless, this one would be on my list! Gorgeous!
    Free bump.
