Finding a family vacation spot that everyone will enjoy is tough for my family. Every once in a while Branson comes up. What's the scoop?

Used to live North of there and went there a couple of times. It's ok if you're older but my little ones didn't care for it. Tried a couple of shows and of course they didn't like them. Take them camping instead. Much better.

Just one of many links with info on Branson. I live about an hour north and have to say I rarely go. I have a relative that works at Silver Dollar City who can get me a free pass, and have only been twice in the last 15 years.

Why? Maybe I just take it for granted because it is so close, and it doesn't feel like a "destination". But, on the other hand, I always have fun there, and there are so many things to do, you can spend a week in the area and have a great time.

One important suggestion: Study the maps of the area so as to avoid "The Strip" that is 76 Country Boulevard. You can walk faster than the traffic at times, but if you have the time, it is quite an experience to see it.

    Big Ol' Cheese Factory.....now that's funny!:D

Don't know if the family is into fishing, but Bass Pro Shops has a very nice resort just south of Branson that features superb fishing, very nice lodging, family activities, trail riding, and spa-type amenities, all at good prices. Depending upon the age of the kids, a guided fishing trip could be a blast.
