    Salut all

Just received a Tom Brantley Geddy Lee Jazz Bass pickup set.
But the pole pieces of the neck pickup were off, not ok with the plastic cover.
I tried two other neck pickup plastic cover and same result.

So had to rework the holes of the plastic cover.
Seems the pole pieces of the pickup are not located as usual. Error or design choice I don't know. Hope it will not affect tone. ( I doubt it will )

Wow, that's bad. I suspect the pole pieces won't line up with the strings, either. I'd return them.

Unfortunately I am from France and bought from Canada

For the 190 euros of pickup + shipping , I had to pay 46 euros of tax fees ...!
    A return seems costly
I will see what the website I bought from will answer to me

  5. That’s the secret to Geddy’s tone! :smug:

Seriously, I guess if you do t want to return them, ask the manufacturer what covers they suggest.

Well looking at the original string/pole pieces alignement of my mexican geddy lee neck pickup, it is not a bad thing that the new pickup has pole pieces closer one to each other

Now that the mod is done to the pickup cover, it doesn't bother me !
Don't think it will be a technical issue

Or Geddy. Maybe he makes house calls. I hear he spends a fair amount of time vacationing in France.

  12. sloppy work to put wrong covers on the pickups - at least I hope that's all that went wrong in the build.

Remind me never to buy pickups from him. For that price, at least he could use the correct fitting $10 covers...

Contact Tom on Facebook. He will be more than happy to take care of you.. He makes fantastic pickups.

  16. At the very least I'd have expected him to explain it with the shipment or before he shipped it... like if he had to use those cases because of the mounting size for your bass, or something ---- but really it just doesn't look like that is the best way to accomplish that goal, if in fact that's what happened.

I do hope they sound awesome though, at least :)

I’d demand a full refund or a correct pickup cover.

Maybe bridge cover got put on the neck pickup by mistake?
