Well i like the feel of a worn in neck, my MIM is 6 years old and the back as no wear it feels new and i just dont dig that. I am not looking to relic it i just want a more natural feel . Suggestions that dont require 100 years of playing welcome:p

    Scotchbrite pads work excellent mate.
No need to mask up your pickups like ya have to do with steel wool ;)
*edit.I just realised that your bass might have some sort of clear coat finish that Scotchbrite could take a year of scrubbing to penetrate. If so,maybe some fine sand paper would do the trick.
    Good luck with it.

Most MIM necks have a flat satin finish, so the scotchbrite pads should be just fine.

+1 on the sandpaper. MIM's AFAIK have a poly coat on the back of their necks. I haven't done this personally as I usually clean the neck every 6 months to a year or so with gunstock oil. Makes it nice and smooth. :)

Any MIM neck I've ever owned was satin.
