I have been playing for over a year now and I have broken 2 g strings. Both within a months time, the second time was just a few minutes ago. I use a .45 g string. What is the reason I am all the sudden breaking g strings. Do I need to alter the way I play? It's not like I just yank at the strings or pound them...............

  2. You need to take your bass to a repairman the bridge or nut could have a problem that causes the string to break.

that would be good advice if it was the same bass, but I broke the g string on each of my 2 basses.......

  4. try playing less agressively. i used to snap the G fairly frequently when i started playing, I haven't doen that for years now. I'd say just be a little easier on it!
