Brevard Live Magazine is a free entertainment magazine that has been published on the Florida Space Coast for 23 years. This month has a funny article about playing original music in a typical beach-side bar. We who live here probably know the bar the author Jared Campbell is thinking of, though I can think of half-a-dozen that qualify.

There is also an interview with David Pastorius in this issue.

It is a PDF file. Proceed to page 30 to read the article "The Electric Willy".

The glass door finally swung wide, stabbing our eyes with cigarette smoke and our noses with the aroma of a bleach and vomit cocktail. A hand displayed, flicking a cigarette out into the parking lot, further supporting the dichotomy of paradise and this place. We grabbed our musical gear with our wavering excitement and started moving it onto the stage. The disembodied hand belonged to the bartender who was walking away from us shouting.

“The lineup has changed, you are opening for The Turds* Oh, and you get ONE PITCHER!”. She was nasty, loud, and looked away from us as she spoke.
