Next year two guys called Brian and Paul shall write an album togheter........i wonder wich one of them will play the bass parts....? Oh the last names are Wilson and Mccartney....
  2. You're back with the Beatles threads?
  3. Paul should play bass on all the tracks and leave the production, song writing and other creative input to Brian Wilson.

Brian Wilson's crazy, meanwhile, Paul McCartney has been coasting on the Beatles' success.

Paul should at least write them!
  11. I am so quotable.

People always heap praises on Paul McCartney, while all the songs I've heard done by him solo have all been pretty boring. He's sold millions of records, good for him, doesn't mean they were great records.

And Van Dyke Parks wrote the lyrics, not the arrangements (or the songs).

indeed, but considering van dyke's extensive arranging and production credits, I figured, why not just go the extra step :p

Because he figured someone would notice if he put another McCartney thread in Bassists or Recordings.

His solo stuff is ok I guess, but his stuff with the Beatles, or any Beatles stuff is genious in my eyes. I definitely don't buy into the idea that McCartney played second fiddle to Lennon though.
