Howdy! Well, I just bought a 1999 Fender American Jazz bass. I love everything about it....except for the bridge. I would like to replace it but my question is this: Can I place a Baddass Bridge on this bass? I see that the Badass II Bridges are 5 screws, while the bridge on my bass is 3. PLUS my bass is throughbody string setup.

What are my options? Is there a badass available with 3 screws? How easy is the bridge setup?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Check out the Badass III. 3 screws, thru-body stringing capability. http://www.basspartsresource.com/BB0336010.jpg

You can even get the model that has pre-slotted saddles. http://www.basspartsresource.com/BB0336SLOTTED.jpg

    I would try:

I can't think of any other parts site off the top of my head, but you could try Ebay as well. Try a google search, too.

*edit* Bestbassgear.com has them in stock, Here.

    First off, welcome to TalkBass.

Second, what is it you don't like about the stock bridge? Imo and ime the stock string through Fender setup is excellent in terms of tone, sustain and general playability. I really don't think you'll notice a big difference switching from stock to a BA bridge, other than a lighter wallet.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
