The neck I am using to make my bass has a 2.75" length at the 24th fret and the bridge I am looking to use has a 3" spacing. I was wondering if this is ok that the bridge is sligtly wider than the neck or will I need to get a smaller spaced bridge. I dont know if this would make it so the strings do not sit properly on the fretboard or not. (I am using a Carvin neck-tru 5 string neck, and was planing on a Leo Quan Badass Bass V bridge)
Anyone who can help me out it will be greatly appreciated, Thanks for your time

  2. You will need to use a bridge with narrower spacing.

    yep, narrower spacing needed..
by the time the strings get to the fretboard end, they are a little less spaced than at the bridge ..but not enough to make up that much plus leave a little fretboard room at the edge.

What if I used a 2.5" bridge with the 2.75" neck would this be better?

yep..you could maybe go up to 2.75, but that one would leave you with maybe 1/16" or so on each side of the fretboard...
